BORN JUST RIGHT Book Review
From dynamic duo and mother/daughter team comes this brilliant own voices middle-grade book about limb differences. Jordan was born without the bottom half of her left arm, but like the title of the book, she was BORN JUST RIGHT.

Born Just Right
Jordan gives her own perspective of growing up in an able-bodied world with a family behind her that relentlessly believed in and championed her in each new developmental stage so that she never felt limited. Jen writes about the steep learning curve her family went through to learn how to care for and empower Jordan.
The book gives an honest perspective of what the family went through starting from the moment Jordan was born. For example, Jen describes how she built her own tool kit and helpful guide to give to teachers and classmates on the first day Jordan went to pre-school. Education and advocacy for the disability was personal, but they were also inspired to passionately for others.
As a result, the book describes how the pair created their own international non-profit, BORN JUST RIGHT. The main purpose was to connect and empower other families with limb differences, but in addition to use STEM as a way to build inclusive technology.

Jordan and Jen tell their journey of how they are able to educate others on limb differences. Sometimes this is done quietly; one conversation at a time. However, the story beautifully models to readers how to strongly advocated for yourself.
Furthermore, they smashed the stereotypes of disability with each new sport that Jordan tried. In turn, as Jordan advocated for herself, she and and her mom paid it forward by mentoring other kids to do the same.
