Our responsibility is to prepare and educate them to the best of our ability, and that includes finances. This Chinese folktale could become a read-aloud favorite. Children will barely even realize they are learning about the concept of doubling in this gorgeous book.  Along with humor and gorgeous illustrations, the ending has a delightful twist for young readers.

For those who are old enough to remember the greatest kid lit show ever, this is a Reading Rainbow classic!

This picture book is a classic for many reasons, and another Reading Rainbow knock out book celebrating it’s 25th anniversary.  This book’s theme of showing loss and devastation is an important topic of conversation for ALL kids to have. No one is immune and teaching resilience is a KEY factor in how kids will handle hardship as adults.
